-
60 ml bourbon whiskey
-
25 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
-
15 ml simple syrup
-
40 g fresh blackberries (approximately 6–8)
-
6 fresh mint leaves
-
100 g crushed ice
-
30 g ice cubes (for shaking)
-
1 fresh mint sprig (for garnish)
-
2 fresh blackberries (for garnish)
01
In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh blackberries, mint leaves and simple syrup. Gently muddle to release the blackberry juices and aromatic mint oils without excessively crushing the leaves.
02
Pour in the bourbon whiskey and freshly squeezed lemon juice, stirring briefly to combine the ingredients.
03
Add 30 g of ice cubes to the shaker and shake vigorously for approximately 10–15 seconds until the mixture is thoroughly chilled and the flavours are well incorporated.
04
Fill a rocks glass with 100 g of crushed ice, then double-strain the cocktail over the ice to remove blackberry seeds and mint fragments.
05
Gently stir the cocktail to distribute the flavours evenly, allowing the crushed ice to slightly dilute and soften the bourbon’s intensity.
06
Garnish with a fresh mint sprig and two blackberries. Lightly tap the mint sprig between your palms before adding it to release its aroma, then serve immediately.
